New Listing Application

In order for us to list your products, you must be an Approved Supplier. Please read our Prerequisites for Supply section if you have not already been setup as an Approved Supplier with the relevant Company.

Before making an application for a new product listing, we recommend that you talk with the appropriate category manager or buyer for the region you wish to supply. Please telephone the relevant Company to find out who you need to talk to or complete the online Enquiry Form.

If you are looking to export to New Zealand and do not have a local office or agent, we recommend that your first submit details of your product offering and Company credentials by way of general introduction. We will then advise whether we are interested in taking matters further. Note that imported goods must meet all pre-requisites for supply i.e. they must comply with all the relevant New Zealand regulations and trade requirements.

Foodstuffs North Island (FSNI) and Foodstuffs South Island (FSSI) have a common National Product Information Management (National PIM) System. The National PIM replaces regional requirements and standardises how product data is submitted, verified and validated to Foodstuffs. 

Please ensure that your new product is set up in the National PIM before you present it to our stores or to FSNI or FSSI.  We recommend that you submit your new product information at least 6 weeks before you intend for the product to be sold or used in our stores.


There are two ways for you to submit your new product listing and changes to existing product listing to the National PIM:

1. GS1's ProductFlow will provide product information via the National Product Catalogue, as well as barcode and image verification.  The service, for barcoded product listing, is offered by GS1 on a first-come-first-served basis, and there is a brief "onboarding" process.  For more information on ProductFlow, or to sign up, please visit, or contact the GS1 New Zealand's Helpdesk on 0800 10 23 56 or

2. Foodstuffs Data eXpress (DEX) is an interactive online form that you will be able to access via the Foodstuffs eXchange at If you already have a login and password for Foodstuffs eXchange, you will be able to use DEX to submit your new product information. If you do not have a login for the Foodstuffs eXchange and you are an Approved Supplier, please contact your local implementation team to sign up:

IMPORTANT NOTE:  With effect from Monday 1 August 2016, Foodstuffs will not be accepting new product listing applications and changes to existing product listings submitted using a Universal Buying Form (UBF) or Non-barcoded Buying Form (NBF).
